Napster To Go
Napster will be launching a monthly subscription service that would let the users to download an unlimited number of songs and play them on portable music devices that support Microsoft Corp.'s copy-protection software. But this service will be launched on a test basis.
Its called Napster to Go, which costs only $14.95 a month and it will be available only for the latest version of Microsoft Media Player i.e. WMP 10. Microsoft's copy-protection which is codenamed Janus is supported by Samsung and Creative Labs Inc. All the major manufacturers have announced support for Janus except Apple which sells its popular iPod. iPod supports only the songs downloaded from Apple's Music Store, iTunes.
