Two new schemes for Airtel pre-paid users.

Airtel seems to be concentrating much on their pre-paid users. They have announced a couple of new schemes in quick succession for their pre-paid users in different parts of the country. To lure those pre-paid customers who have their near and dear ones abroad, Airtel launched its new 'Pardes' pack which allows them to make calls to US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Africa at considerably lower rates. This scheme is now valid for Airtel users in the Gujarat circle where users can call landlines in US, Canada and Europe at Rs.7.99 per minute and Middle East and Africa at Rs.12.99 per minute. These rates are lower than the earlier rates by 52% and 35% respectively. In another move by Airtel, pre-paid users in Delhi will be able to extend the validity period on their pre-paid cards without buying a recharge card. Initially, the validity extension is limited to one day at a time and can be carried on up to 10 times in a tenure of 30 days. Users will have to pay Rs.20 for the extension of one day. To avail this service, the users need to dial *144*001# and then press the calling button on their handsets. The validity of the account will conclusively get extended by one day. The users can even use this service within 3 days of entering the grace period. According to Airtel, this initiative is to facilitate pre-paid users who may fall short of money when they need to recharge. (Source: Techtree)
